Introduction

Many people think that government workers are pencil pushers who spend their days in an office. While that may be the case for some employees, government employees include policemen, firefighters, doctors, and teachers. The visualization below shows what the 19,255,141 state and local government employees in the US do everyday.

Data Notes

The data for this visualization comes from 2014 Annual Survey of Public Employment and Payroll which is conducted by the US Census Bureau.
Once I downloaded the data, I then copied it into a visualization creator at statpedia.com The site creates and hosts the data visualization.
