Data Notes
The educational attainment data for this visual was gathered from the U.S. Census Bureau’s API. The data is provided from American Community Survey 5-year estimates and is for the percentage of people that are 25 years old and older. After I scraped the data from the API using Python, I then used Tableau to create this viz. Data is also available from 2019-2023 and more topics are mapped in our County Data Explorer.
Education is important because it is related to higher income, more social cohension, and even happiness. Do you think these are characteristics that describe these counties?
